About

Why this exists

Cooking with cannabis is mostly arithmetic, and almost every site that covers it treats the arithmetic as a footnote. This one is built the other way around.

The problem

You have a jar of flower with a percentage on the label and you want a cookie that is worth eating and not worth regretting. Between those two things sits a four-step calculation: how much converts when you decarb, how much of that transfers into the fat, how much of the fat goes into the batch, and how many servings come out the other end.

Every recipe blog hands you a different fudge factor for those steps, and most hand you a single confident number. Get it wrong low and you wasted an afternoon. Get it wrong high and someone has a genuinely bad six hours.

The rule we hold ourselves to

Nobody can tell you the milligrams in a cookie without a lab. Any site that prints “7.3 mg per serving” to one decimal is lying by implication.

So every number here is a range with its assumptions printed beside it. When a calculator works backward it sizes against the weaker end, so a miss leaves a batch mild rather than overwhelming. Every constant behind every figure is written out on one page, with its reasoning, so you can check the math instead of trusting it.

That constraint is not a limitation we work around. It is the whole design.

What makes the recipes different

Cooking with cannabis is a fat substitution, not a new cuisine. You swap butter for cannabutter and the rest is ordinary cooking. So a recipe here never stores a milligram figure — it stores the fat it needs to work and the dose it is written to hit, and reconciles the two against whatever is in your fridge.

Tell the site how strong your oil is once, and every recipe rewrites its own ingredient amounts. The fat total stays where the recipe needs it and the infused share moves, because halving the butter in a cookie dough does not give you half-strength cookies, it gives you bad cookies.

Rules we do not break

  • Nothing is sold here. No cannabis, no seeds, no edibles, no dispensary menus. This site sells information and software, and that is all it will ever do.
  • No medical claims. You will not find a dose-for-symptom table, a condition to treat, or a health benefit asserted. That is not what this is for and we are not qualified.
  • No false precision. Nothing prints to more than one decimal, and nothing above 10 mg carries a decimal at all.
  • Harm reduction travels with the numbers. Start low, wait two hours, label what you store. It sits next to every result rather than hiding in a footer.
  • We show our work. Every recipe names the conventional ratio it is built on. Every constant names its reasoning.

Who builds it

CannaChef is built by The Grow Cannabis Company · GCC Grow, LLC — the same operation behind a handful of other cannabis tools. The short version: a grower who got tired of paying monthly for software he did not own, and started building the things he actually wanted to use.

The others:

They share a database between them. That is why typing a strain name into a calculator here can fill in its potency, and why the terpene work coming later can tell you what a particular strain is worth cooking with.

It is early

The beta tag in the corner is honest. The calculators are done and tested. The recipe library is small and growing. The strain integration and the terpene pairing work are not built yet.
